BERKHAMSTED and Tring Stroke Support Group is looking for volunteer drivers to help ferry members to and from the club. The social club provides activities and outings for those who have been affected by a stroke. A friendly driver is needed to use their own car to pick up one or two members every other Tuesday between 10.15am and 1.30pm and transport them to and from the club. The driver is more than welcome to stay and participate in the activities of the group.

> A ‘shop assistant extraordinaire’ is needed at a new Keech Hospice Care store in Adeyfield. Volunteers are being sought who can spare a few hours a week (entirely to suit you). They will be joining a ‘really friendly and happy little band of workers’ with ‘copious amount of tea, coffee and biccies, and lots of laughs all around the sorting of donations, customer service and till operations’.

> The Volunteer Centre Dacorum is itself looking for volunteers to help run the centre. The busy Marlowes office needs enthusiastic, multi-tasking assistants.

Help is needed on Mondays between 9.30am and 4pm (can be split in to two sessions) and Thursdays 9.30am to 1pm. The role is a mix of reception and IT. Volunteers will need a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and database searching.

There are opportunities to help with special events and advertising initiatives. Someone is needed to respond to telephone calls and visits from volunteers, and from people working with local groups and charities.

Support from staff is always on hand, and full training is given. Volunteers usually help for one or two sessions each week.

To find out more about these opportunities contact the Volunteer Centre, The Roundhouse, Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead, call 01442 247209 or visit www.volunteerdacorum.org
