ROWS about clear signs for a traffic enforcement camera are at risk of erupting again – because the start of a new year means an advance warning sign that has never been removed could now be used as an excuse by motorists who fall foul of the rules.
The warning sign giving notice that the notorious camera on a bus lane in Hemel Hempstead town centre will come into operation only says it will happen in July, but does not say what year.
And that could be a loophole for motorists looking to dodge fines for driving on the bus lane in Moor End Road.
Herts County Council has said that it is aware of the sign and will be taking it down – but can’t confirm a date when the work will be done, months after the camera was switched on.
