Work to resurface a worn out stretch of road in Hemel Hempstead is due to start on Monday, February 18.

A total of £115,000 is being spent by Herts County Council on the work along Boxted Road.

It is expected to take five days to complete and the road will be closed between Warmark Road and Warners End Road from 9.30am and 4.30pm.

Signs for alternative routes will be in place to guide motorists.

Councillor Stuart Pile, who oversees highways and transport, said: “Some degree of disruption and delay is to be expected as a result of these essential maintenance works. The work has to be carried out while the road is closed for the safety of our workers and all road users, so please allow extra time for any journeys you make while work is in progress.”

The work is weather dependent and unforeseen circumstances can cause work to have to be done outside of the advertised hours.

Any changes to the proposed starting date, duration or working hours will be announced at www.hertsdirect.org/roadworks
