Police were called in to investigate after firefighters battled a car blaze on the disused Nickey Line.
One crew from Hemel Hempstead was called out to the fire at the rear of Mimas Road, Hemel Hempstead, on Sunday just before 6.30am.
Firefighters said the cause of the blaze was suspicious and Herts Police is investigating.
