Firefighters were called to a blaze at a detached home in Wigginton on Friday night.
Crews from Tring, Berkhamsted and Bucks went to the property in Chesham Road just after 10pm.
A downstairs room was heavily smoke logged and the cause of the fire was logged as accidental.
The fire was out just after 10.30pm and firefighters left the scene just before 11pm.
