There is help on hand for those who have been left confused by recent changes to council tax and housing benefits.
In light of the changes, which means some may receive less support, advice sessions are being run at Dacorum Borough Council’s Civic Centre.
Under the shake-up some people may have to pay more towards their council tax, while others could have their housing benefit reduced if they have spare bedrooms.
Council benefits processing team leader Matt Kelly said: “We know that this is going to be a difficult and worrying time for many of our residents, which is why a team of specialists from our benefits, council tax and housing income teams will be focusing on supporting people through the changeover.
“If you’re affected and you need advice, we’re here to help. If you think that you are going to struggle to pay your rent or your council tax, please contact us now before you get into debt, and we will work with you to find a solution.”
