POLICE suspect burglars are using an Audi A3 as their getaway car after they targeted three shops in three nights.

The first victim was The Village Shop in Gossoms End between 7pm on Monday and 6.15am on Tuesday last week.

Owner Chirag Patel, 33, who works with wife Vaishali, 32, said: “There was broken glass everywhere from where they smashed one of the side panels on our bay windows.”

The crooks, who may be connected to Abbots Langley, targeted Western Road News – a Tring shop belonging to Mr Patel’s brother Hemal – just a day later.

They were interrupted at about 2.45am on Wednesday after someone saw them behaving oddly and phoned the police.

About £200 in damage was done to his window frame, but nothing got stolen.

At about 2.15am that day, the burglars broke into The News Box in Market Square, Hemel Hempstead, but set off an intruder alarm and fled.

They were captured on CCTV driving down Waterhouse Street, Combe Street and Marlowes before going up Midland Road in a silver Audi A3 with registration LN56XWM.

If you see it, phone 999 and try to remember what the occupants look like.
