Police appeal after trio try to rob pair in Hemel street attack

Two men were attacked by a teenage trio and ordered to hand over their mobile phones during an attempted street robbery.

Police are hoping to track down a motorist in a blue vehicle who drove past at the time of the assault, which happened between 7.45pm and 8.15pm in Green End lane, Hemel Hempstead on Tuesday, April 2.

Both victims managed to run off but one of them had suffered bruising to his face and a cut lip.

The first offender is a white youth, aged between 16 and 18 and around 5ft 10in tall. He has a pale complexion with freckles and was wearing a grey hooded top with a faded black Puffa-style sleeveless jacket and grey tracksuit bottoms. The second attacker is a white boy, aged 16, 5ft 10ins tall with a skinny build. He was wearing dark jogging bottoms.

The third offender is also a white boy, aged between 16 and 17, 5ft 10in to 11ins tall with a chunky build and dark brown hair. He was wearing a maroon hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.

Det Con Paul Sammons said: “I am keen to trace any witnesses to the incident but particularly the driver of a blue vehicle which drove past during the incident close to the junction of Green End Lane and Varney Road.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who was in the area between the above times and who saw the three suspects to also contact me.”
