A school will be able to improve its sporting facilities after being granted permission to install an artificial pitch.
The plan for Hobbs Hill Wood Primary in Peascroft Road, Hemel Hempstead, has been given the green light by Dacorum Borough Council’s development control committee.
Spokesman for the school Steve Beadle said at the planning meeting on Thursday: “The whole reason for doing it is to utilise and expand the sports facilities in the school.”
The pitch would be used by schoolchildren during the day and then hired out during the evenings.
Councillor John Whitman said: “It gets kids away from computers and gets them out playing football. Yes, I’m all for it.”
