A Christmas-time children’s comedy which kicked up a stink in Hemel Hempstead lost out on a BAFTA television award last night.
The one-off show Mr Stink, based on David Walliams’ novel and filmed partly in Marlowes, Tiki Cafe and Gadebridge Park, was nominated in the comedy programme category at the prestigious awards.
However, the hour-long caper about a smelly homeless man played by Hugh Bonneville was pipped to the post by a BBC Three political satire called The Revolution Will Be Televised.
Mr Stink also starred Sheridan Smith, who did pick up a BAFTA on the night for her role in the ITV drama series Mrs Biggs.
