Stars of the future hone their skills at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts – and you can spot them before they hit the big time by joining the audience at regular shows staged at the on-site Markova Theatre.
There’s one tonight at 7.30pm – but if that’s too short notice and you want to catch the 2013 Junior Dance Show don’t despair.
This two-act production highlighting the breadth of training that Tring Park offers its students in classical ballet, modern and contemporary dance and tap will also be staged tomorrow evening and on Friday afternoon at 2pm.
The show was conceived by Ruth K Armstrong and Jeremy Kerridge and is based on Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Tickets are £9 (£6 concessions) from www.tringpark.com/boxoffice or 01442 821516
Friday also sees a chance to catch Tring Park’s graduate tour on stage, but this is a bit further afield – at the Lilian Baylis Studio at London’s Sadler’s Wells:
This high-energy show features an exciting blend of dynamic urban jazz, lyrical contemporary dance and pure classical ballet.
And there’s more in store – Aylesbury’s Waterside Theatre will provide the stage for To Dance With The Gods, the 2013 Senior Dance Show.
That’s scheduled for Sunday, June 30, when the school’s senior dancers will perform in the premiere of a new work inspired by an eclectic mix of songs and music including Holst’s The Planets.
At heart it’s a simple love story set against a background of war, but the couple’s fate is in the hands of the immortals.
Tickets for this show are now on sale from the theatre’s website – visit atgtickets.com/aylesbury for full details.
