A driver was arrested for drink driving after his car overturned in Abbots Langley High Street yesterday evening.
Police were called at 5.45pm after it is believed a green Ford Mondeo collided with a stationary Hyundai i20 and overturned onto its roof.
The road was closed at 6pm after reports of a man running from the scene. A police spokesman said a man was later detained and arrested for drink driving.
He is yet to be detained in custody as he is believed to still be in hospital being treated for his injuries.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said they were called at 5.49pm and a man was taken to Watford General Hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
No-one else was hurt in the incident and the High Street was reopened at 7pm.
