Fair weather for Frogmore’s Summer Fayre will help keep canal boat afloat

Organisers of Frogmore Paper Mill’s next seasonal fayre are keeping their fingers crossed they won’t have another weather washout.

The historic attraction’s Spring Fayre in March was almost frozen out by the snowy conditions, so trips on the antiquated Bryan Donkin canal boat had to be called off.

At this weekend’s Summer Fayre, taking place from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, it is hoped it will be fair enough to run the boat trips and raise money towards the craft’s much-needed renovation.

Visitor services manager at the mill Peter Burford said: “Our objective is to keep this fascinating bit of history going, so we need to raise as much as we can.”

Entry to the fayre, which also includes mill tours, craft stalls and a barbecue, costs £1 for adults and 50p for children. Boat trips cost an extra 50p per person.
