A family will come together from different parts of the UK to complete a Walk to Remember for a dad who died of cancer.

David Bendle died of a genetic stomach cancer nine years ago, and was cared for by Tring’s Rennie Grove Hospice Care in his final days.

His daughter Ruth was diagnosed with stomach cancer shortly afterwards, and her sister Lisa was also found to be carrying the gene. They had life-saving surgery to remove their stomachs in 2006.

David’s wife Lynn and Ruth have now gathered family members from Birmingham and Hastings to take part in Rennie Grove Hospice Care’s Walk to Remember.

The 10km circular walk from Halton House near Wendover is on what would have been David’s 58th birthday – Sunday, July 14. To learn more or sign up for the walk, visit www.walktoremember.co.uk or call 01442 820730.
