Women from Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead and Tring were part of a nationwide event to get more women on their bikes.
They were taking part in British Cycling’s Big Breeze Bike Ride weekend, which aimed to address the problem of the sport being quite so male-dominated.
A total of 14 of them turned up for the Dacorum event – a circular ride from Ashridge House to Frithsden and back, followed by cakes and tea.
Newly qualified Breeze champion Kate Campbell said: “It was a brilliant turnout and a lovely atmosphere. I am looking forward to leading out more rides for local women.”
Claire Crouchley, one of the riders, said: “I really enjoyed it and felt confident enough to cycle home on my own at the end.”
