Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning led a group of pupils from Hobletts Manor Junior School on a visit to 10 Downing Street.

The pupils, who were chosen because they were current or previous members of the school council, were able to have their picture taken on the famous doorstep before going on to visit the Science Museum.

Mr Penning said: “It was a great pleasure to take the Hobletts Manor children to Downing Street to see where the Prime Minister lives and works.

“The children proved themselves great ambassadors for their school and for Hemel Hempstead and I thoroughly enjoyed their visit.”

Junior school deputy headteacher Kathryn Boulder said: “The children of school council have worked very hard this year raising money for Jake’s Dream Fund and were thrilled when invited by Mike to visit 10 Downing Street in recognition of this.

“The children had a fantastic time and we are extremely grateful to Mike for organising this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Jake’s Dream Fund is a fundraising effort for three year old Watford boy Jake Skinner who suffers from cerebral palsy and needs a costly operation that could help him learn to walk.
