Herts Fire and Rescue service is making waves by teaching boaters on the county’s waterways about the dangers of carbon monoxide.
They are working with the Boat Safety Scheme to hand out leaflets with advice on how to make regular, basic checks and fit smoke and CO alarms inside barges.
Chief fire officer Roy Wilsher said: “We are keen to raise awareness of the actions that boat users can take so that they can avoid a potential tragedy.”
