The green light has been given to replace a mobile home with a two bedroom house within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Planning officers recommended that permission be granted for the small home at Mosshall Farm in upmarket Little Gaddesden saying the proposal is an improvement on what already exists and the rundown mobile home could be replaced with a much larger temporary property which would not require planning consent.
Little Gaddesden Parish Council had objected over infilling fears, which is why the plan was considered by Dacorum Borough Council’s development and control committee on Thursday.
Councillor Gillian Chapman said she fears there will be subsequent planning applications to expand the home. “Bearing in mind this is Little Gaddesden,” she said.
Planning officer Jackie Ambrose said she is confident that any such application would be refused and added that permitted development rights will not apply to this property.
