A church youth group hopes to spread an important message about the dangers of drugs as part of a multicultural awareness campaign.
The Winners, part of a church and charity group based in Hemel Hempstead and Milton Keynes, has organised a community day offering expert advice and information as well as dance, music and drama.
Group leader and event organiser George Kufa, 40, of Highfield, said: “I have noticed there aren’t many events in Hemel Hempstead that have a multicultural aspect. By bringing together different performers including traditional African dancers we want to appeal to people from different backgrounds, and spread our message.
“As a youth group substance misuse is something we want to try and raise awareness of.”
The event will feature advice workshops in Marlowes and a musical and drama evening at the South Hill Centre from 4pm to 9pm on Saturday, August 31. Call George on 07827 706906 for more information.
