Tributes have been paid to a Bennetts End man discovered dead just weeks before his birthday in Hemel Hempstead’s town centre last week.
Paul Cook, of Meadow Road, Hemel Hempstead - also known as Cookie - was found outside B&M Bargains in Marlowes on Tuesday morning.
His friends have been in touch with Hemel Today to pay tribute to the fun-loving man, who was due to celebrate his 25th birthday on September 17.
Louise Dance said: “With you I had laughs, jokes, a lot of dancing and memorable moments within the walls of The Exchange. Yours was always the first face I was looking for on my nights out and when I saw you I knew that it was gonna be a good night. Your zest for life and partying will be passed on through more partying and good times. And all in the memory of your name.”
Greg Darvill said: “Paul was the kindest and one of the most loyal people I’ve ever met. He was a good friend and he has certainly left a legacy behind him. RIP will never forget you.”
Police are not treating Paul’s death as suspicious and the case has been passed on to the coroner for Herts.
The cause of his death, subject to confirmation at a later inquest hearing, has been recorded as multiple traumatic injuries, pending toxicology results.
