A van driver had to be cut free from his vehicle by firefighters after losing control and crashing into trees.
Emergency crews were called to Chaulden Lane, Hemel Hempstead, at 5.45am this morning.
Police also attended and closed the road while the white Ford transit van was recovered. This was complete just after 7am and the road was reopened.
The driver was taken to Watford General Hospital by ambulance.
