Highways chiefs are looking into ways to make it very clear to motorists that Hemel Hempstead’s notorious Moor End Road is a no-go area for most drivers.
The town centre road is for buses, taxis and cyclists but that did not stop thousands of people from driving down there and being slapped with fines in 2011 and 2012. The enforcement camera has since been switched off after a tribunal ruled that warning signs were not clear enough.
But now Herts County Council chiefs are considering making physical changes to the layout to ensure the message is clear.
Council spokesman Andrew Dawson said: “We are looking at ways to physically amend the layout to make it more obvious to people that it is a bus, taxi and cycleway only”
