Police have been at a Hemel Hempstead traveller site since just after 1am today after patrolling officers came across a disturbance.
The ‘substantial police presence’ at the Three Cherry Trees Lane site is now being scaled back.
Herts Police spokesman Sarah Spence said they are concerned about ‘heightened tensions’ at the site.
She said: “No offences have been committed but officers have remained in place to assist in preventing any breach of the peace.”
