A Berkhamsted home was raided in broad daylight on Thursday by burglars who escaped with jewellery.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information after the incident in Covert Road, which took place between 6am and 4pm.
The crooks forced entry to the house, helped themselves to their loot and then made their escape. Police say they do not know which way they headed.
Kevin Deudon from the Dacorum local crime unit, investigating, said: “Covert Road is a very quiet street and as the burglary happened during the day it is likely that an unfamiliar vehicle or people may have been seen in the area.
“If you saw anything out of the ordinary or saw anyone acting suspiciously, please get in touch as soon as possible.
“I’d also be interested to hear from anyone from the area who may have recently been offered some items of jewellery for sale.”
