Police are continuing their crackdown on class A drug pushers with a further two raids on Hemel Hempstead homes.

Operation Calamus aims to track down Somalian drug lords infiltrating the area from London and muscling their way into the homes of drug addicts and the mentally ill. They are thought to be using them as bases for supplying heroin and crack cocaine.

So far the operation has executed 10 drug warrants and made one arrest. A 36-year-old woman from Hemel Hempstead was arrested last week on suspicion of possession of a class A drug. She has been released on police bail until October 23.

If you have suspicions about drug dealing taking place in your neighbourhood, call police on 101.
