Quick-thinking Snow Centre workers have helped create the perfect landing zone for Father Christmas at Chaulden Infants and Juniors Schools.
The school has invited Santa to visit its pupils in its grotto ahead of tonight’s Christmas Fair, and the St Albans Hill ski attraction provided a patch of snow to help him have a smooth landing.
School office administrator Julie James said: “We had an urgent call today from the North Pole to say that as there was no snow in Hemel Hempstead, Santa wouldn’t be able to land, and the elves were so upset as they had already made his grotto all lovely and welcoming.
“One quick call to The Snow Centre solved that problem, and the effect on the children this morning when they arrived at school to find snow for Santa was amazing.”
The Chaulden Infants and Juniors Christmas Fair runs from 6pm to 8pm and follows the Chaulden shops lights switch-on starting from 5.15pm. Pushing the button will be MP for Hemel Hempstead Mike Penning.
