Police caught one driver going at 105mph on the M1 and another going at 94mph on the A41 during speeding patrols last night.
The checks were undertaken by the Beds, Cambs and Herts Roads Policing Unit as part of the January Think campaign to encourage safer driving.
The force posted about the speeders on social networking site Twitter.
In their first tweet, officers said: “Driver stopped travelling 105mph, admits to “Playing” in new hire car #ItsNotAGame.”
The # symbol is used on Twitter to create trends between people talking about similar topics.
In the officers’ second tweet, they said: “Speed checks also being carried out on #A41 #Berkhamsted. Driver recorded at 94mph in heavy rain #Think.”
