Visitors to Watford General Hospital will be greeted with a whole new look thanks to future plans to transform the facility’s surroundings into a residential health campus.
Plans to create a new living community in west Watford – which would include businesses premises, shops and restaurants as well as homes around the existing hospital site – have been unveiled.
Samantha Jones, chief executive of West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust which also incorporates Hemel Hempstead and St Albans hospitals, said: “We’re delighted to be involved in such an exciting project which will undoubtedly deliver many advantages for the people of west Watford and beyond. Watford Hospital is at the centre of the Watford Health Campus and, in time, the plans will offer numerous benefits to our patients, their friends and families and our staff. I’d encourage people to get involved and help shape the masterplan.”
View the plans at Watford Football Club tomorrow from 1pm to 7pm, Saturday from 12 noon to 3pm, or in Watford Town Hall on Thursday, January 30 from 10am to 1.30pm. They are also online at whc-consultation.co.uk.
