police: An officer in Tring has been named a regional winner in the Herts police Safer Neighbourhood Awards.
PC Rachel Vaughan, of the town’s Safer Neighbourhood Team, now has a chance of scooping Neighbourhood Police Officer of the Year in the finals at County Hall in May.
She is described as ‘dedicated and diligent’ while a burglary victim says Rachel went ‘beyond the call of duty’ to get a CCTV camera installed at their home.
Chief Insp Mike Pryce of Dacorum police said: “These winners have clearly gone the extra mile and I am proud to have them in my team.”
Ron Tindall, Police Authority lead for Dacorum, said: “These awards are a great opportunity to recognise the excellent work of police officers, PCSOs and members of the public who work together to help keep local communities safe.”
