TOWN leaders have called for enforcement action to be taken after a planning breach allegedly left carbon monoxide blowing into a neighbour’s property.
Patricia Wassall said a boiler next-door begun blowing fumes into her property during work to build two new three-bedroom houses on the site.
She claimed the Bank Mill homes in Berkhamsted have not been built in accordance with the planning permission their owner was given.
The householder spoke out at a Monday night meeting of Berkhamsted Town Council.
Councillor Tom Ritchie said: “If there are gasses blowing into the next property, I think that really needs to be amended as it is a serious health and safety issue.”
Council members objected to an application from the house builder requesting permission for amendments to the original plans, saying it was “overbearing”.
They will recommend to Dacorum Borough Council that it send one of its officers with a police officer to inspect the site and take enforcement action if necessary.
