Hertfordshire Constabulary joined police forces around the world today in a global Tweet-a-thon.
The 24-hour Twitter event – which is using the #poltwt hashtag – has been taken up across the globe, as police forces take the opportunity to reach more people and build stronger relationships with communities and other forces.
The #poltwt started in Australia yesterday and has since been taken up by forces in the USA, Canada and New Zealand, as well as the UK.
Hertfordshire Constabulary spokesman Dan Atkinson said: “During the course of the day we will be posting hundreds of Tweets covering everything from police operations and traffic updates to what your local officers are up to.”
