Survey results have revealed that 93 per cent of patients in Hemel Hempstead, Watford and St Albans hospitals would recommend their experiences to others.

The data, taken between April and June, is from the new ‘friends and family test’ which allows hospital bosses to gain feedback and helps patients make an informed choice about where to be treated.

The three West Herts NHS Trust sites ranked highly in the scores calculated from the survey responses, with a total of 68 – four marks above the national average. Just 2.1 per cent said they would not recommend the hospitals.

Chief executive Samantha Jones said: ““While it is still very early days for the test, it is heartening that so many of our patients would recommend the services we provide.

“This is good news for our doctors, nurses and other staff, as well as our patients.

“However, I am definitely not complacent and we will use the results to further improve the care we provide.”
