Members of a drug and alcohol abuse recovery group joined fellow service users at a UK Recovery Walk event in Birmingham.
Spectrum – part of Hertfordshire’s Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service – is based in Hemel Hempstead.
Leader Trudy Sealy and six other members walked with thousands of others to celebrate their recovery on Sunday.
Deputy services manager Glenda Lee said: “Every day within the Hemel Hempstead service, we see heroes who represent an example to anyone seeking a better life, free from the chains of addiction.”
The recovery service works with people over 18 who would like to access support for their drug or alcohol misuse. For more, visit www.cri.org.uk/hh_recovery.
