There’s a bigger entertainment bill at this year’s Tring Christmas Festival

Youth theatre talent and local musicians have been added to the entertainment bill ahead of Tring’s Christmas Festival at the end of the month.

The young winners of this year’s Design-A-Light competition will kick the evening off at 6.30pm on Friday, November 29, with the grand light switch-on ceremony.

Visitors will then be free to enjoy brand new performances from the youngsters of the Court Youth Theatre and other talents.

Those with children can take some time out for a bedtime story at Tring Library, and older ones can have a giggle in the fancy dress photo booth opposite Francesco’s restaurant.

The Victoria Hall will be transformed into Santa’s grotto for the night, where people of all ages can make a small donation to meet Father Christmas himself, along with his wife and some happy elves,

More than 50 businesses will open late on the night alongside plenty of seasonal craft stalls, which will give the crowds a chance to keep their Christmas shopping local.

The popular event has drawn thousands of people each year after it replaced the town’s Victorian Evening seven years ago, and this year organisers are hoping it will be no different.

Event organiser Heather Simms said: “This is going to be our biggest and best event yet as we’ve got so many new things to keep everyone entertained.

“We’re really happy and excited by the amount of support we’ve received from local retailers and organisations, and can’t wait to see everyone enjoying themselves on the night.”

The team are still looking for some volunteers to help them out on the night with car park and marshalling duties. If you think you could help then get in touch by emailing heather@tringtogether.org.uk.
