KIDDIES got to meet the author behind a book they had been reading in class.
Writer SF Said visited St Mary’s School in Northchurch to talk about his first page turner Varjak Paw, which tells the tale of a cat leaving home.
Headteacher Elly Haezewindt said: “The most exciting part for the children was actually meeting the person who had put the words on the page and seeing the link between the author and the book.”
She added: “They asked lots of different things about what it is like to be an author, where he gets his ideas from and they discussed their understanding of the book.”
The visit by Mr Said to speak to Year 4 children was organised by their class teacher Anne Forsyth.
